Tia Blanco was one of four girls chosen to be shot for the 2016 Surfing Magazine Swimsuit issue. Shooting in the Caribbean Islands, this year’s issue will feature Coco Ho, Nikki Van Dijk, Malia Manuel and Tia. The girls are currently sailing on Sunsail catamarans and island hopping to get the perfect blend of swimsuit trend shots and surf action.
Look for the issue to drop pre-summer 2016.
Tia fought hard battles this week at the WQS Shoe City Pro to get a second place finish in the final against a stacked heat. Huntington Beach was pumping all week providing good contestable conditions. Tia won all her heats leading up to the semi’s, where she got second. Clearly the most active in the final heat, Tia had huge wave count but just missed the top spot by a little over a point.
The Shoe City is the first WQS contest of the year for the WSL.
Next stop for Tia is the Bahamas where she will be shooting for Surfing Magazine. Congrats Tia. You rocked it!
Tia Blanco has committed to two more years with long time accessories sponsor Sticky Bumps. Tia will rep the brand for wax, traction, board bags and leashes. She is also stoked to be adding Futures Fins as a sponsor for 2016. Tia has been riding the fins in 2015, which helped her gain an ISA World’s Championship and ISA World Jr.’s Silver Medal.
We are happy to continue with the Sticky family and add Futures to mix.
Tia Blanco has been chosen for a new campaign to be shot in early 2016 for Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. The campaign will focus on “fresh food matters” and will feature about a dozen personalities from all walks of life. Tia will be talking about being a vegan pro athlete and why fresh food matters to her.
The campaign will be featured on the company’s websites and social media channels.
Tia Blanco surfed dominantly all week at the ISA World Jr’s to take the silver medal in the final. Her high scoring performances all week helped her team to secure the first ever Jr. gold medal for the USA Surf Team. In great Oceanside surf, Tia surfed hard all week and in the end missed the gold medal mark by a percentage of a point. Also the ISA World Surfing Games Gold medalist, Tia has had an amazing 2015 for Team USA. Should surfing make the Olympics in 2020, we expect to see Tia competing!

Tia Blanco is the latest athlete tapped by Sony to join their elite team of action sports athletes. Tia will exclusively use Sony Action Cams for all POV shooting. Tia joins athletes like Tony Hawk, Danny Davis, Robbie Madison and Nigel Sylvester as the face of women’s surfing for the brand.

Tia Blanco has been tapped to shoot two campaigns this week. One of the campaigns will be for vegan meat substitute company, Beyond Meat. High in protein and nutrients, Beyond Meat makes the best tasting meat alternatives on the market. Tia will be used on the website and in ads alongside other top pro athletes. Perfect Pillow, makers of a chiropractic pillow, is tapping Tia for their new foam roller product due out in Q4. Tia will be used as the face for the product both on online and POS.
Tia Blanco has been on a media tear lately appearing in two pieces for two major outlets. WGSN is the fashion industry’s most well known trend tracking service. They recently included Tia in a piece on their favorite surf and skate muses. Playboy did a shoot for the magazine, website and social media (clothed) for their “Becoming Attractions” section which covers the hottest up and coming females in sport, music and the arts.

Tia Blanco, in honor of her gold medal win at the ISA World Games, will be throwing out the first pitch tonight at the Padres game. The game starts at 7:10 p.m. and the Padres will be playing the Cardinals.
In other news, Tia will be surfing in the Supergirl Pro next week in Oceanside.
