Louie Lopez and Curren Caples Make Pro Debut At Tampa

Coming off a first and second place at their last amateur contest, Louie Lopez and Curren Caples made their pro debut alongside RPRT client and Flip team mate David Gonzalez. All three skaters ripped up the qualifiers with Curren ending off 7th and Louie 10th overall.

Though they didn’t make it out of the semi’s all three finished in the top 20 overall.

Louie Lopez Re-Ups with Volcom

There will be no change in the clothing sponsorship category for Louie Lopez. Tried and true to the Volcom Stone, Louie has re-upped his deal for another two years as a pro.

Congrats Louie.

Arto Saari Signs with New Balance Numeric

Arto Saari has signed a multi-year agreement to sign with the new skate program for New Balance. He will be joining PJ Ladd on the inaugural roster to shepherd in the new addition to the iconic athletic shoe company’s foray into skateboarding.

Already seen in major publications, a music video and all over social media, Arto has been rumored to be on the roster for a while. It is now official.

Look for pro shoes to come out in late 2014.

Shane Borland Wins NSSA Open Jr.’s in Santa Cruz

Shane Borland came out on top this weekend surfing in fun Santa Cruz waves in the 15 and under Open Jr.’s for NSSA. Shane, just 13, is making his mark as a force to be reckoned with in the under 15’s in the NSSA Central Coast Region.

Two sporter Shane immediately went for a skate after his win. Good on ya Shano!

Jeremiah Smith Signs with Triple 8 Helmets

Jeremiah Smith has just signed a multi-year deal with helmet company Triple 8! Miah has been wearing their helmets for years and will be the first signed BMX pro to the program. He will be wearing helmets and pads exclusively from the company.

Stoked for you Miah!!! Yeah!

Caples and Lopez Sweep Damn Am!

It was an awesome weekend of skating at the best ever Damn Am down at Volcom HQ this weekend. Perhaps one of the hardest to judge, RPRT clients Curren Caples and Louie Lopez shared the top two spots out of about 200 kids. Curren dominated from his early golden ticket qualifying run and Louie killed the course with some insane tech. In the end, Curren got the top spot with Louie accepting a well deserved 2nd.

Arto Saari Signs With Home Timelabs

Arto Saari joins pro snowboarders Travis Rice and Gigi Ruf as the first pro skater to represent the brand. Home, based in Switzerland, has strong European roots in the boardsports world and is super stoked to welcome Finnish legend Arto to the team.

Arto will also be shooting future campaigns for the brand.
