RPRT Clients + Matt Meyerson Credited on “Little Birds”

Making his directorial (and writing) debut, Elgin James’ “Little Birds” made a big splash at The Sundance Film Festival as an “Official Selection.” Elgin tapped RPRT to film out multiple scenes with pro and amateur skaters. Clients David Gonzalez, Erik Ellington, Geoff Rowley, Arto Saari and friends Ewan Bowman and Rune Glifberg all had small roles in one of the two skate scenes.

For his work on the film, RPRT’s Matt Meyerson was credited as “Skate Wrangler.”

David Gonzalez’s Pro Model for Globe Drops

David Gonzalez’s first pro model, “The Heathen,” for Globe Shoes is set to drop in February. The shoe comes in a low and high top and is now in stores.

A launch party for the shoe will be held by Globe on 2/3 at the Red Room in Long Beach to celebrate the release of the shoe.

Louie Lopez signs with Flip Skateboards

Louie Lopez has signed a contract with Flip Skateboards which will take him into his pro career. Terms are undisclosed but the deal ensures Louie will be on the 2010 Transworld Team of the Year well into his turning pro.

Louie has been on Flip has an am since he was a grom and is stoked to commit to the legendary company.

Gurgel and Frausto set to both fight March 5

RPRT clients Jorge Gurgel and Zoila Frausto, who recently announced their engagement, have both tentatively been scheduled to fight on the same date, March 5th, in two separate promotions. Jorge, without an opponent as of yet, will fight in his home state of Ohio for Strikeforce Challengers Series live on Showtime. Zoila, verbally committed to rematch Jessica Aguilar in California for Bellator…the first time she will defend her championship belt. That promotion will air on MTV2.

Both fighters fight out of JG MMA in Ohio.

RPRT Welcoming FMX Rider Kyle Loza to the Team

Three times X Games gold medal FMX rider Kyle Loza is joining the RPRT roster. Kyle is known for basically reinventing freestyle motocross including inventing tricks like the “Electric Doom,” which earned him X Games gold in 2009. Out of X for an injury in 2010, Kyle is ready to rock for 2011 and go for his fourth medal.

Kyle is also tentatively set to be part of the cast of “Audrina,” a Mark Burnett production for VH1. Kyle’s wife Casey is Audrina’s sister and the two have two children together.

Geoff Rowley Partners with Maloofs

Geoff Rowley has partnered with the Maloof organization to help design their courses for 4 contests over 2011 as well as a handful of public skateparks the organization is planning. Geoff will work closely with the Maloofs, CA Skateparks and sponsors (including Vans and Volcom, both of which sponsor Geoff) to make the MMC the best skate contest possible.

RPRT Skaters to Guest at Spring Camp Woodward Session

RPRT clients Arto Saari, David Gonzalez, Louie Lopez, Curren Caples and Shane Borland have been invited to be the guest pros/ams for Camp Woodward’s upcoming Spring session. The skaters will be on hand to skate and interact with campers. The session is set to take place April 17-20 and information will be available soon HERE.

Josh Hansen Wins Anaheim 1 Lites Class!

US Supercross season started last weekend with Anaheim 1. RPRT client Josh Hansen dominated both the qualifier round and the finals in the Lites Class with first place finishes to start the circuit out with a bang and show the world why 2011 is his year to enter the record books.
