This week Tia Blanco did it again. Representing for TEAM USA at the ISA World Surfing Games, she retained her title and won gold in the individual competition. Team USA wound up getting a bronze medal because of Tia’s performance and they also got gold in the Aloha Cup team challenge. Tia surfed amazingly well all week in Jaco dominating most of her heats with huge carves, big hacks and a couple of super stylist laybacks.
Congrats Tia on your 2016 title win!
Tia Blanco surfed dominant heats in NSSA Nationals this last week and made it all the way to semi’s. Unfortunately her heat didn’t serve up many contestable waves and she lost by a margin in a woman on woman heat with last year’s champ. This is Tia’s last NSSA event and rounds out an incredible junior career. With all the amazing finishes Tia has had in the 2015 season, she is now able to focus on her goal of qualifying for the World Tour.
Awesome job Tia. We are so proud of your accomplishments.
Tia Blanco did it! Dominating the surf all week in Nicaragua, Tia has brought home the gold medal in the ISA World Surfing Games. Tia won every heat she entered (except one she got second because her board snapped) and showed everyone what a dominant performance looked like. The only member of Team USA to make the final and not have to surf in any repercharge heats, Tia surfed with power and style.
We are so proud of Tia and all she is accomplishing this year. Next stop for Tia is the Los Cabos Pro where she will hopefully get more points toward qualifying for the World Tour.
Tia Blanco has been chosen by Surfing America to be part of the USA surf team which will be competing in the ISA World Surf Games in Nicaragua. The Games will take place in Popoyo, Nicaragua from May 31st – June 7th. Tia is one of two girls chosen for the team and will be helping Team USA secure a gold as they did in 2009.
Go Tia and Team USA!!!
Tia Blanco was crowned champion at this year’s Ron Jon Pro Jr. in offshore 2-3 foot surf in Cocoa Beach, FLA. This victory gives Tia 1000 points and puts her as the front runner for the Pro Jr. tour in a bid to qualify for the WSL Junior Championships.
Super proud of Tia as she ventures to Taranaki next in New Zealand to compete there.
Sony Action Cam has signed four RPRT athletes to their growing roster of POV camera athletes. Tia Blanco, Ryan Paul, Jeremiah Smith and Keegan Palmer will be joining the likes of Tony Hawk and Jeremy Jones as part of the ambassador program.
Expect new POV footage coming out from these four on a consistent basis.
Tia Blanco will be doing an Instagram takeover of the Svelte account tomorrow. Tia has partnered with the organic protein shake company to do a look into a day in the life. She will be posting images throughout the day and chatting how Svelte fits into her vegan athlete lifestyle.

Shane Borland came out on top this weekend surfing in fun Santa Cruz waves in the 15 and under Open Jr.’s for NSSA. Shane, just 13, is making his mark as a force to be reckoned with in the under 15’s in the NSSA Central Coast Region.
Two sporter Shane immediately went for a skate after his win. Good on ya Shano!
