Tia Blanco heading to her birthplace this last week to take a convincing win at the Corona Pro PR in Rincón. The surf was good throughout the contest and Tia was on fire. With the win came a check for $5000 and the official announcement that Tia has joined TEAM PR moving forward to represent the team in ISA Worlds, Pan Am Games and hopefully 2020 Olympics in Japan.

Keegan Palmer continues his bowl dominance in Australia winning the Bowlzilla contest at Eleanora this past weekend. Keegan grew up skating this spot and his lines showed knowledge of every nook and cranny of the spot.
Tia Blanco is the first female to release a signature board for Sector 9. Her board is a hybrid cruiser meant to take you down to the beach or enjoy a concrete shred on flat days. The board is now available on the Sector 9 website or in select retailers. 
Keegan Palmer is the first person to win the amateur contest at Bowl-A-Rama and then win the pro division in the next year. Taking the crown back for Australia (it has been 13 years since an Aussie won the contest), Keegan dominated the entire weekend placing first in qualifiers, first in semis and then taking the top title with a decisive first in the finals. Keegan used an array of back to back to back (and so on and so on) tricks to convince the judges that his lines were the most tech and diverse.

Lindsey Jacobellis was tapped to co-star in a Toyota campaign, a sponsor of hers, featuring the world’s top Snowboard Cross athletes. Lindsey is seen in the commercial, directed by Oscar-winning director Michel Gondry, with five other top SBX athletes. All the girls in the spot will be competing in the Winter Olympics this week and we are hoping for a gold for LJ.
Broc Raiford hit Estonia over the head this weekend with big blasts and super technical tricks. Coming out at second place in qualifiers, Broc wound up securing 3rd place overall at this year’s Simple Session. The street contest is one of Europe’s most touted skate and BMX contests and riders from all over the world attend.

Coming off the success of What The Health Film, the vegan movement has attached itself to Tia Blanco and her story. Tia will be featured in The Game Changers, along with other vegan athletes, which premieres this week at the Sundance Film Festival. The film covers the phenomenon of vegan athletes and the myth of meat being essential to a healthy athlete’s diet. Executive Produced by James Cameron, Tia joins the likes of Arnold Schwarzennegger and former MMA fighter James Wilkes.
