Deadline.com announced a project yetsterday that Netflix is developing with Charlize Theron that involves Keala Kennelly and her cohorts who fought for pay equality in professional surfing and won. The movie will be based on an article written by RPRT friend Daniel Duane for NY Times Magazine. For more information you can read HERE.
Keala Kennelly is your 20/21 Red Bull Magnitude Champ. Keala won both the “Biggest Wave Award” and “Overall Champion” taking home a cool $30k in cash. On a day when everyone opted to go to big close out Jaws, Keala stayed on the North Shore and found the outer reefs to be pumping clean waves. It was this day that was the impetus for the win.
